Opening of the Art Zone at the AMBERIF Fair

AMBERIF International Amber and Jewelry Fair was a unique opportunity to get acquainted with the latest jewelry trends and the opportunity to purchase designer products directly from the manufacturer.

During the last edition of the Fair, guests were also able to visit the Vintage Zone, the Designer Gallery and the Startup Zone. Particularly invited to visit the Art Zone. The exhibition opening took place on August 29, 2024 at the AMBEREXPO Exhibition and Congress Center.

Exhibitions during the AMBERIF Fair included:

  • Ethnic Jewellery of the World — an exhibition of photographs and jewelry from the collection of Maria Magdalena Kwiatkiewicz, Yes.The direct context of the jewelry was the body, and the jewelry worn by people in different cultures had magical, talismanic or religious significance.The exhibition presented ethnic jewelry from different parts of the world, including from India, Nepal, Papua, Cambodia, Ethiopia, China and Tyza Betty. The exhibition was complemented by photographs taken during the trip by Maria Magdalena Kwiatkiewicz.

  • Jolanta Gazda: “I'm Fine/Help Me”
    The exhibition presented the latest works of Jolanta Gazda, which were created in the last two years. The artist combined knitting techniques with the art of goldsmithing, and drew inspiration from folk art and nature. Brooches and necklaces were the result of reflection on the duality of the nature of things and the differences in the perception of the reality around us.

  • Marcin Tyminski: “Self-therapy...”
    The exhibition was the result of a creative process that Marcin Tymiński described as a form of self-therapy. The artist's works with amber combined with polymer and silver were presented, complemented by sketches documenting the creative process.

  • Treasure Box of the Future
    The narrative exhibition of amber referred to the contemporary way of life, the changing concept of luxury and the values of Generation Z. Both physical objects and multimedia materials with the participation of avatars with which the younger generation could identify were presented.

  • Review of the work of the members of the Association of Goldsmith Forms
    The exhibition presented the works of the members of the STFZ, which were aimed at promoting Polish goldsmith art in Poland and abroad. Selected works of artists associated with the Association are shown.

  • “Amber 2024 > Other Criteria”
    The exhibition included selected works from the exhibition “AMBER 2024 > Other Criteria”, presenting unique objects by leading amber makers from the Tri-City and foreign artists. Particular attention was paid to modern techniques forjewelry design, such as CAD/CAM, 3D printing and the use of artificial intelligence.

  • Exhibition of works from the collection of the International Amber Association
    Contemporary amber jewelry awarded in international competitions and works of MSB members with amber authenticity certificates were presented.

  • Lech. J. Zdrojewski: “Maucher's Caskets Several Views”
    An exhibition of photographs of Christoph Maucher's casket, a masterpiece made of amber, which was created in Gdańsk around 1700. The exhibition presented large-format photographs of the details of the casket, which showed the artistry of the artist in a magnification of 20-50 times.

The opening took place as part of the International Amber and Jewelry Fair AMBERIF Autumn 2024.
